Two of America’s most influential media personalities recently shared opposing perspectives on Meghan Markle, the entrepreneurial wife of Prince Harry and a prominent figure in the British royal family.
Meghan Markle remains one of the most divisive figures in American pop culture, as highlighted by the contrasting opinions of Oprah Winfrey and Megyn Kelly.
Oprah Winfrey, Meghan’s neighbor in Montecito and interviewer of her notable 2021 sit-down, included Meghan’s products in her annual “Oprah’s Favorite Things” holiday gift guide, according to the Daily Mail.
Winfrey promoted items from Meghan’s As Ever home products brand, recommending a three-jar gift set of berry spreads and orange marmalade priced at $42.
“Before my neighbor Meghan started her business, she shared her homemade recipes with us,” Winfrey wrote in the guide.
“I love to drizzle (one of the spreads) on an English muffin or yogurt or ice cream. I also love bringing a jam or preserves as a hostess gift, and with this pretty box set of orange marmalade and raspberry and strawberry spreads, just add a bow and you’re ready to go.”
Megyn Kelly and Oprah Winfrey represent the sharply divided American opinions about Meghan Markle—while Kelly criticizes, Winfrey embraces and promotes her entrepreneurial efforts.
Author’s note: Meghan Markle continues to evoke strong and contrasting reactions in American media, illustrating her complex role in popular culture.
