Witkoff: Hamas Ready to Surrender Weapons to International Force
At the America Business Forum in Miami, U.S. representative Steve Witkoff stated that the Palestinian movement Hamas is willing to hand over its weapons to an international security force in the Gaza Strip.
“Hamas has always made it clear that it is ready to hand over its weapons,”
Witkoff said, noting that this readiness was reaffirmed even to Jared Kushner, advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to Witkoff, Washington is currently pressing Israel to allow Hamas militants besieged in Rafah, southern Gaza, to leave the area. He expressed optimism that Hamas will keep its promise, emphasizing potential benefits for Gaza’s future.
“If it does, it will realize that the development plan we have for Gaza is truly extraordinary, much better than what was proposed in the past,”
Witkoff added, highlighting a major initiative focused on extensive job creation and economic recovery in the region.
