"Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things," Matt and Ross Duffer wrote in an open letter to fans. "At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but as you’ll see for yourselves, we are now hurtling toward our finale."

Although it’s hard to say goodbye, this finale feels timely as the young cast has matured alongside the story. Fans are eager to see what the Duffer Brothers create next, whether it’s a new project or a Stranger Things spin-off, which Variety has hinted may be in development.
