Xpeng to Launch Three Robotaxi Models in 2026
Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV), a Chinese electric vehicle maker, announced plans to launch three robotaxi models in 2026 and begin trial operations of the service. The announcement was made by He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO, at the 2025 AI Day event in Guangzhou.
Advanced AI and Computing Power
Each robotaxi will be equipped with four in-house developed Turing AI chips, delivering computing power of up to 3,000 TOPS.

- This technology supports operation beyond confined zones, enabling cross-city and cross-border deployment.
- External interaction capabilities will be included, allowing pedestrians to see the vehicle's intended actions—like turning or searching for parking—through the windshield.
Collaborative Ecosystem Development
Xpeng plans to open its robotaxi SDK (Software Development Kit) to global partners, aiming to build an extensive robotaxi ecosystem.
