Adelaide Christmas Pageant: Road Closures and Free Transport
The festive season officially begins in Adelaide tomorrow with the city’s beloved Christmas Pageant returning to the CBD. The event is expected to attract more than 300,000 people, marking the start of holiday celebrations with a vibrant parade and street festivities.
Road Closures
To ensure safety for participants and spectators, multiple major roads will be closed from early morning until early afternoon.
- King William Street: closed from South Terrace to Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, 5 am–1 pm.
- Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga: closed 5 am–1 pm.
- Hindmarsh Square/Mukata: closed from midnight to 1 pm between Grenfell and Pirie Streets.
- Other affected roads: Grote Street, Wakefield Street, North Terrace, Angas Street, Gouger Street, Pirie Street, and Currie Street.
Transport and Safety
Free public transport will be available for attendees heading to the CBD. Authorities encourage visitors to plan ahead, use public services, and follow official directions to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration.
