Jalen Green, recently acquired by the Phoenix Suns in the Kevin Durant trade, is expected to make his season debut after recovering from a right hamstring strain.
Green, 23, joined the Suns as part of the blockbuster 2025 offseason deal that sent future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant to Houston. Alongside Green, Phoenix also received Dillon Brooks and the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 draft, used to select Khaman Maluach.
Despite averaging 20.1 points per game over four seasons with the Houston Rockets, Green missed the Suns' entire preseason and first eight regular-season games due to his hamstring injury.
“Coming here, I got to know (the team), and I picked up with everybody very fast. Everyone is cool and has the same goals and mentality, so that makes it easy when you’re chasing that same goal with somebody. … From the coaching staff, to the players, to the front office, everyone is just great. The relationships molded fast.”
Green expressed that despite being new to Phoenix and yet to play in a Suns uniform, he feels at home and has quickly built strong bonds both on and off the court.
The Suns face the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, marking Green’s anticipated debut game, which fills the last gap in the high-profile offseason trade.
After sidelining with a hamstring injury, Jalen Green is ready to debut for the Suns, bringing fresh energy and strong team cohesion to Phoenix following the major Durant trade.
