Travel Weekly recently previewed Rick Stein's new restaurant, showcasing its bleached Mediterranean beach atmosphere within the newly built 198-key InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach. The restaurant is set to open soon, offering bookings for visitors eager to experience its unique coastal dining.
The venue can seat 224 guests across three distinct areas:
Indoor dining includes a 10-seat chef’s table and two 12-seat banquette sections. The walls are decorated with two large artworks—an arrow squid and a school of fish—adding to the coastal theme.
Sass’s Bar, named after Stein’s Australian PR wife Sarah, occupies the former karaoke bar of the old Crowne Plaza building. Following a soft opening that will serve 80 guests, Stein is expected to arrive on December 20.
More than 3,500 people accessed the booking site as soon as it went live. The restaurant will operate for lunch and dinner on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and dinner only from Monday to Thursday.
“Sydney’s Coogee Beach is the perfect location for our flagship Australian restaurant. It’s relaxed yet sophisticated, with that incredible connection to the ocean that has always inspired my cooking. For us, this feels like coming home.” — Rick Stein
