School and Bus Cancellations in Cape Breton
High winds and power outages have caused disruptions for several students in Cape Breton on Wednesday.
Cancellations and Dismissals
- The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) reports some school buses are cancelled due to strong winds.
- St. Mary’s Education Centre/Academy will have an early dismissal starting at 9:45 a.m. because of a power outage.
- Beau-Port School, operated by CSAP, is closed for the day due to a power outage in the area.
- At NDA School, morning bus transportation is cancelled due to high winds. The school remains open, but bus riders must find other ways to attend or stay home.
Updates and Ongoing Notices
NDA School staff will update families later about afternoon bus services. NSCC Strait Area Campus has also cancelled classes because of a power outage that occurred overnight; power is expected to be restored by 2:00 p.m. The Wagmatcook Learning Centre will remain open as usual.
