East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) has revealed six ambulances featuring special designs in honor of Remembrance Day. These decorated vehicles pay tribute to the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces.
The ambulances will rotate among the service’s operational hubs, enabling different crews to work with the tribute vehicles. This ensures widespread visibility and engagement across the service.
"It's important that we recognise and respect the sacrifices made in conflicts around the world - both within our communities and among our staff." — Terry Hicks, Deputy Director for Emergency Operations Centres at EEAST
The initiative was organized by the ambulance service's fleet support teams under Mr. Hicks' leadership. He emphasized that featuring these vehicles is a tangible expression of EEAST’s dedication to supporting armed forces personnel.
"This kind of recognition can make a real difference to someone who may be struggling, helping them feel safe to speak up and seek support." — Terry Hicks
In addition to the six tribute vehicles, EEAST is applying poppy decals to other ambulances in its fleet to mark Remembrance Day on November 11. This effort reflects the service's core values.
"The Remembrance ambulances are a powerful symbol of our respect and gratitude, and they reflect the values of compassion and community that underpin everything we do at EEAST." — Neill Moloney, Chief Executive of EEAST
The East of England Ambulance Service has creatively honored the armed forces with specially designed ambulances and fleet-wide tributes, reinforcing support and compassion within its community and staff.
