Remembrance Day Poppy Craft at Haringey Libraries
Young children and their families can participate in Remembrance Day activities on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at several Haringey libraries. Poppy craft sessions will be held at Hornsey Library (3:30pm–4:30pm), Marcus Garvey Library (3:30pm–4:30pm), and Muswell Hill Library (3:45pm–4:45pm) on the day itself.
This activity is designed for children aged three and above. After making their poppies, participants can pin them on Remembrance Day boards at Hornsey or Marcus Garvey Library.
Additionally, families can create a field of poppies at Stroud Green and Harringay Library on Monday, 17 November 2025, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. This session is suitable for children aged five and older.
Other Arts and Crafts Sessions in November
- Comic Art Masterclasses: Artist Kevin F Sutherland, known from Beano and Marvel, will host two masterclasses at Wood Green Library on Saturday, 22 November 2025 (10:30am–12:30pm and 2pm–4pm). Participants can create both a comic and a caricature during the two-hour sessions.
Chess Playing Sessions
- Hornsey Library: Thursdays from 3:30pm to 6pm. Beginners and experts welcome; bring your own chess board.
- Marcus Garvey Library: Tuesdays, 3:30pm–5pm. Chess boards available on request. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
- St Ann’s Library: Mondays, 4pm–5pm (Term Time Only). Maximum of 12 children per session, first come, first served. Suitable for ages 7–16.
