Actor David Corenswet and his wife, Julia Best Warner, became the focus of online discussion after reports surfaced that Warner briefly liked an Instagram post containing Zionist references. The like was said to be removed shortly after it drew public attention.
At the same time, Corenswet’s name mistakenly appeared on a pledge organized by Film Workers for Palestine (FWFP). The pledge urges Hollywood professionals to avoid collaborations with Israeli film institutions accused of being “complicit in genocide and apartheid.”
“An impersonator added him to the campaign without his knowledge,” the FWFP confirmed in a statement issued on November 4, 2025.
After verifying the false submission, the organization removed Corenswet’s name and stated the inclusion was fraudulent. The pledge remains valid and continues to be supported by numerous figures in the film industry.
Meanwhile, the alleged Instagram like by Warner fueled online speculation, as it appeared at the same time as the confusion around the pledge. However, it has not been proven whether the post itself was Zionist, taken out of context, or misinterpreted by viewers.
A mix-up involving David Corenswet’s false pledge signature and Julia Best Warner’s alleged Instagram activity triggered brief online controversy later corrected by official clarification.
