Brantford will join communities across Canada in honoring those who served and continue to serve during times of war and peace. Citizens are invited to attend and pay their respects to these individuals.
On Monday, cadets will hold a vigil from 6 p.m. to midnight, resuming again at 7 a.m. The Brant War Memorial will remain illuminated throughout the night.
On Tuesday, a walking march including veterans, active service personnel, first responders, dignitaries, and cadets will proceed from Harmony Square along Dalhousie Street to the Brant War Memorial.
The Civic Service of Remembrance begins at 10:50 a.m. During the ceremony, weather permitting, a B-25 Mitchell bomber and an FF46 Firefly aircraft from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton will perform a fly-past.
A student from John’s College, winner of a local speech-writing contest, will present a speech titled The Role of Canadian Soldiers in War One.
“We encourage members of our community to join us on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, as we remember, with deep respect and immense gratitude, the remarkable sacrifices of others,” said Sharon Sayles, communications advisor for the City of Brantford.
The ceremony will also recognize the names of one First World War veteran and 22 Second World War veterans, identified earlier this year as missing from the Brant War Memorial.
