Jeff Mittie, head coach of the K-State women's basketball team, has announced the addition of Ivona Scekic to the 2025-26 roster. The center from Ljubljana, Slovenia, will join the Wildcats in mid-December.
Scekic has significant experience in European basketball, having competed in multiple FIBA events with Slovenia’s national teams. Her participation includes the 2025 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket, 2025 and 2024 FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket tournaments, and the 2023 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship.
During the 2025 U18 EuroBasket, Scekic played in seven games, averaging 5.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. She ranked 17th in rebounds per game and posted notable stats against Greece, scoring 13 points and grabbing nine rebounds in just 19 minutes.
The Wildcats will begin their 2025-26 regular season road trip with a game against SMU on Saturday at 4 p.m. The matchup will be available live on ACCNX and can also be followed via the K-State Sports Network online.
